The fact that it's fruit normally would be fine, because fruits are definitely part of a healthy diet, except for the fact that the fiber, which helps your body deal with the sugar, is obviously lacking in the store-bought version. You can definitely tell that the store-bought baby food has a lot less fiber based on how liquid it is. The store-bought baby food said that there were 2 grams of fiber in the 3.5oz package. According to the Mayo Clinic, my homemade version has about 3.75 grams of fiber. That's almost double the fiber!
My homemade version tasted great, too! Sweet enough that my son loved it and ate about 4.5 ounces in one sitting... but not so intensely sweet that your child's food preferences would be altered as with the store-bought version.
