- Place the beets in a blender with 2 frozen bananas, 1 avocado, 1/4 cup raw cacao, and 1/2 cup almond milk. Blend on high for about 45 seconds or until completely smooth.
- Pour into two glasses and enjoy! Optional: Whip together 1/4 cup of the thick separated full fat coconut cream with 1 Tbsp raw honey and place on top of the milkshake.
Though bananas are typically thought of as the best food source for potassium, avocados actually have twice the amount of potassium as a banana. So, when the two combine, this milkshake becomes a wonderful shake for athletes to recover or prevent cramping. Additionally, cacao and red beets are some of the best sources of magnesium, which is one of the most commonly deficient nutrients in the typical Western diet. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to many common conditions, including anxiety.
